The device has a strip (2) connected with a container (1). A separation layer (3) is connected with a surface of the container. The container, the strip and the separation layer are arranged between wiping layers (4, 5). The wiping layers are connected with each other outside the separation layer such that an absorbing space is formed between the wiping layers. A passage opening is provided at a side of one of the wiping layers (5) and the separation layer. An end of the strip is connected with a sealed edge (13) at a side of the container. Another end of the strip is bent downwardly. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a fluid absorbing device with wiping layers.
