PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of repetition frequencies of the selection of a feature point from a query without increasing a processing load. SOLUTION: An image retrieval device for determining the similarity of an input query image and a registered comparison destination image, and retrieving an image similar to the query image is configured to make a feature point selected from the query image associated with the feature point of the comparison destination image on the basis of featured values of the feature points, to extract a plurality of pairs of corresponding feature points in the two images, to obtain at least two pairs of feature points from a plurality of pairs of feature points, to determine coordinate conversion coefficients for performing coordinate conversion processing so that the coordinates of the feature point of one image of two images can be matched with the coordinates of the feature point of the other image, to perform coordinate conversion processing using the coordinate conversion coefficients related to the plurality of pairs of feature points for determining the similarity of the two images only when the conversion quantity of the coordinates by the coordinate conversion processing using the coordinate conversion coefficients satisfies preliminarily designated restriction conditions, and to compare the coordinates of the feature point after conversion of one image with the coordinates of the feature point corresponding to the other image.
