PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique for increasing a siliconizing speed with respect to magnetic powder containing carbon and iron. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the magnetic powder includes at least a first heating process of heating first powder containing at least a carbon element and an iron element to increase perlite structure contained in the first powder, and a second heating process of mixing second powder containing at least a silicon element with the first powder after the first heating process to make the silicon element to permeate a surface layer of the first powder to be diffused. In the method of manufacturing the magnetic powder, the first heating process is carried out prior to the second heating process. Consequently, the amount of the perlite structure contained in the first powder can be increased when the second heating process is performed to increase the siliconizing speed.
