PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circulation type kneader in which the back flow of fed material is suitably suppressed. SOLUTION: The circulation type kneader 1 for mixing the material fed to a cylinder 5 by using a screw 6 having a circulation route 12 on the interior, includes a volume-adjusting part 3 and a flange 10 which prevent the material sent to the distal end part of the cylinder 5 by the screw 6 from back-flowing to the proximal end side of the cylinder 5.
