PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile robot system, allowing reliable contact between a charging contact of a charging device and a charging electrode of a mobile robot, without requiring special movements or shapes for the charging device, and furthermore, without requiring complicated controls or expensive components for reducing the positioning error of the mobile robot. SOLUTION: In the mobile robot system, at charging, a mobile robot movable in any direction recognizes the position of a charging device placed against the wall, moves to near the charging device, and then moves toward the wall. Upon checking that a contact part attached to the mobile robot is in contact with the wall, the mobile robot approaches toward the charging device, while pressing the contact part to the wall, confirms that a charging electrode attached to the contact part is brought into contact with a charging contact housed in the charging device; and then starts to charge a charging battery housed in the mobile robot.
