PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine determining failure of an intake pressure sensor and an atmospheric pressure sensor by a relatively simple computation. SOLUTION: An estimate suction air flow rate is calculated based on estimate atmospheric pressure HPA, intake pressure and a throttle valve opening, and the estimate atmospheric pressure HPA is updated so that the estimate suction air flow rate coincides with a detected suction air flow rate, and the estimate suction air flow rate is calculated by using the updated estimate atmospheric pressure HPA. When a pressure difference DPA between the estimate atmospheric pressure HPA and detected atmospheric pressure PA is a predetermined threshold value DPTH1 or more, it is determined that any of the atmospheric pressure sensor, the intake pressure sensor or and intake air flow rate sensor causes failure.
