PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting the end of lower thread on a sewing machine is provided to prevent an error in sewing by enable a user to accurately know the position of a bobbin thread. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for detecting the end of lower thread on a sewing machine includes the inlet terminal(27) and outlet terminal(28) of a bobbin thread. A contact unit electrically connects the inlet terminal to the outlet terminal. A contact-function controlling unit makes the function of the contact unit enable and disable according to the state of the bobbin thread. A control signaling device outputs a result to a user.
