摘要 PURPOSE: A method of controlling the braking power of an electronic parking brake system is provided to enable the sharp change time of a load to be checked through the measuring of the current and the speed of a motor and thus an electronic parking brake system to be properly controlled with the braking force suitable for the time. CONSTITUTION: A method of controlling the braking power of an electronic parking brake system is as follows. The current and the speed of a motor, which is driven to operate and stop the electronic parking brake system, are measured(600). The time when the measurements sharply change is checked through the monitoring on them(620). The braking force of the electronic parking brake system is controlled by the braking force applied for a given time from the checked time(630). The sharp change time of the current and the speed of the motor comprises the time when the current of the motor increases again after its first decrease. The sharp change time of the current and the speed of the motor comprises the time when the speed of the motor decreases again after its maximum increase. The electronic parking brake system controls to reach the target braking force through the applying of the braking force for an optimal braking time at the checked time.
