PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL element restraining abrupt luminance change due to change of angle of view, while highly maintaining light extraction efficiency. SOLUTION: The EL element 10 has a light emitting layer 12 pinched by a pair of electrodes consisting of an anode 13 and a cathode 14, and laminated on one of the faces of a translucent base material 11, for irradiating light released by the light emitting layer 12 through the translucent material 11. A lens sheet 17 with a plurality of lens elements 19 arrayed thereon is laminated on a light irradiating face side of the translucent base material 11, and the lens elements 19 of the lens sheet 17 are made to contain diffusion elements.
