PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a homoallyl ether by allylating an acetal using monovalent indium as a catalyst. SOLUTION: The method for producing a homoallyl ether includes allylating an acetal with a boron-containing allylating agent represented by formula (1) (wherein R1is a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon, chloro, alkoxy or silyl containing a substituent; and R3is a hydrogen atom or aliphatic hydrocarbon).
