PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material management system managing whether cooking of a material for a commodity is allowed or not when the commodity as cooked food is prepared to be sold at a shop.

SOLUTION: A reader/writer 100 reads item specification information and shipment specification information from a material IC tag 22 on cooking of the material 20. A shop terminal 200 transmits the item specification information and the shipment specification information to a material management server 300. The material management server 300 includes a cooking period storage part, a cooking period reading part, and a cooking determination part. The cooking period storage part stores a cooking allowable period and material identification information in mutual association. The cooking period reading part reads the cooking allowable period corresponding to the material identification information meeting the item specification information read by the reader/writer 100. The cooking determination part determines whether cooking of the material is allowed or not based on the cooking allowable period and a difference between a preparation date and time corresponding to the shipment specification information and the current date and time.
