PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly accurate magnetic field generating member that minimizes warp (straightness) despite high cycle molding in order to improve molding efficient, is improved in rigidity and hence reduced in size, and to provide a magnetic particle carrier having a magnetic field generating member, a developing device having the magnetic particle carrier, a process cartridge having the developing device, and an image forming apparatus having the process cartridge. SOLUTION: In the magnetic field generating member 140, (1) the groove bottom 144a and groove sides 144b of the body 140a have a curved shape, (2) in terms of the height from the groove bottom 144b of the body 140a to the peripheral surface of the body 140a, the middle of the body 140a is lower than both ends of the body 140a, and (3) in terms of the width between the opposite sides of the groove 144 of the body 140a, the middle of the body 140a is narrower than both ends of the body 140a, and (4) fine recesses and projections are formed on the surface of the body 140a opposite the groove 144 of the body 140a.
