Provided is an optical disk device capable of correcting a value of a control parameter during a reading operation of information from an optical disk medium. The optical disk device which reads information recorded in the optical disk medium under an operating condition corresponding to a value which is set for a predetermined control parameter, wherein, the device repeatedly executes a process to acquire two evaluation values indicating information reading accuracy from the optical disk medium with respect to two values of the control parameter, respectively, and to update the values of the control parameter in accordance with the acquired two evaluation values, during the information reading operation from the optical disk medium, to thereby correct the value of the control parameter.
