<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material holding device for facilitating document retrieval, and organizing the document. <P>SOLUTION: A material holding device 10 is provided with: a ring 13 for loosely fitting a document 14 or a file or a case body to a hole section 14a formed at the side of arrangement; and an L-shaped shaft 11 which is provided on the back face of an upper casing 2 equipped with a liquid crystal display device in a laptop personal computer 1 and turnably supports the document 14 or the file or the case body while the ring 13 is loosely fit.
