PURPOSE: A passenger cabin cooling and heating apparatus for a railroad car is provided to reduce energy consumption by monitoring indoor temperature change through a central control system. CONSTITUTION: A passenger cabin cooling and heating apparatus for a railroad car comprises an optical fiber sensor(10), a radio communications unit, a temperature controller(40), a control device(30) and a display device(50). The optical fiber sensor senses the inside of the passenger room. The radio communications unit converts an optical fiber sensor into a digital signal. The temperature controller is installed within each passenger room. The control device controls the operation of the temperature controller through the radio communications unit. The control device produces the temperature value and controls the temperature of the temperature controller.
