<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change opening of a through-hole 11 in response to an engine operating condition in a cylinder block 1 for an internal combustion engine provided with the through-hole 11 in a partition wall 6 partitioning between adjacent crank chambers 8. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The through-hole 11 is provided with an adjusting member 12 for changing opening of the through-hole 11. Posture of the adjusting member 12 is controlled by a driving source 14 in response to the engine speed.
