<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stent containing medicine in a surface coating neither increasing the wall thickness of the stent nor having an adverse effect on mechanical expansion characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: An expandable medical device 10 includes a plurality of elongated struts 18 forming a substantially cylindrical device 12 expandable from a first diameter to a second diameter. A plurality of different beneficial agents are loaded into different openings 30a, 30b within the struts and delivered to the tissue. For treatment of different diseases, different agents may be used from the same drug delivery device. In addition, anti-thrombotic agents may be affixed to at least a portion of the surfaces of the medical device for the prevention of sub-acute thrombosis. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
