<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent toner from dropping from a toner cartridge attachable to and detachable from a developing device main body and to improve operability for cartridge attachment/detachment. <P>SOLUTION: A toner supply port 39b of a toner cartridge 37 is provided with a shutter mechanism 100 comprising; an elastic member 94 stuck to a cartridge side face so as to cover a periphery of the toner supply port 39b; a slide plate 95 supported slidably on the outside of the elastic member 94; and fixed seal 96 disposed on the outside of the slide plate 95, whereby toner is prevented from dropping out of the cartridge when the cartridge is not attached to the developing device main body. A toner supply port on the developing unit main body side omitted in Figure is provided with an elastic member covering its periphery, and this elastic member and the fixed seal 96 of the shutter mechanism 100 are slid when the toner cartridge 37 is set to the developing unit main body, so that slide resistance is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
