PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the damage of a multi-hole filter (MHF) 9 caused by the differential pressure between the upstream and downstream of the MHF 9 even when a fine hole 13a is clogged by foreign matter caught by the MHF 9. SOLUTION: By housing balls 14-16 in the MHF 9, even when the foreign matter caught by the MHF 9 closes the fine hole 13, the foreign matter closing the fine hole 13 and the foreign matter floating inside the MHF 9 are pulverized by the balls 14-16 irregularly moving inside the MHF 9. Also, the path cross sectional area of a fuel introducing path 41 more on the downstream side of a fuel flow direction than a fuel introducing path 6 housing the filter apparatus is made smaller than the diameter of the balls 14-16. Thus, even when the MHF 9 is damaged, since the fuel introducing path 41 more on the downstream side than the MHF 9 is clogged by the balls 14-16, the foreign matter does not flow into the sliding part and valve part of an injector provided more on the downstream side than the MHF 9, and the full amount jetting of the injector is prevented.
