PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine for performing efficient sewing work. SOLUTION: The sewing machine 1 includes: a needle bar; a mechanism for vertically moving the needle bar; a sewing machine motor 41; a moving mechanism; motors 21 and 23 for moving which drive the moving mechanism; a control means 10 for driving the sewing machine motor and the motor for moving so that a needle location is in a position determined by a sewing pattern in every stitch according to sewing data 60; a deceleration means 30 for decelerating a rotating speed of the sewing machine motor when an excess load is applied to the motor for moving; and a speed reverting means 30 for reverting the decelerated rotating speed of the sewing machine motor according to predetermine conditions.
