PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change the position of the operation part of a locking apparatus by detaching and attaching a minimum number of elements. SOLUTION: The locking apparatus of a shutter is provided with the right-and-left latch bars 5, 6 and an actuating mechanism 8. Each of the latch bars 5, 6 is provided with an engagement part 7 on its tip, and the actuating mechanism 8 provided to the base end of the right-and-left latch bars 5, 6 makes the latch bars 5, 6 slide movements between a projected position and a retracted position. The latch bars 5, 6 can make slide movements in a latch-bar housing part 45 which is extended on the indoor side of a back plate 4 in the width direction of a shutter curtain, and an opening 45A extended in the width direction of the shutter curtain is formed in the latch-bar housing part 45. Each of the latch bars 5, 6 is divided in the longitudinal direction, and is constituted by a plurality of elements 50, 60, 51, 61, 52, 62 including the first elements 50, 60 provided with an engagement part so that they can be assembled and disassembled.
