PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas detector for outputting sensor output vsen having cancelled the effect due to a peripheral temperature without causing the rise in the heat values of both of the platinum coil Rs of a detection element 2 and the platinum coil Rs of a comparison element 3 accompanied by a temperature rise. SOLUTION: A constant voltage source cv1 feeds constant voltage to the detection element 2 and the comparison element 3, and a sensor circuit 4 outputs the difference Vs-Vr, which is calculated by subtracting the voltage Vr across both terminals of the comparison element 3 from the voltage Vs across both terminals of the detection element 2 as the sensor output vsen. A fixed resistor Rcs is connected to the detection element 2 and the comparison element 3 in series so that sensor current i flows to the detection element 2 and the comparison element 3. A temperature correcting circuit 5 generates the temperature correcting voltage vc1 corresponding to the voltage Vcs across both terminals of the fixed resistor Rcs to add the generated voltage vc1 to the sensor output vsen to thereby correct the variation component corresponding to a rise and fall in the peripheral temperature of the sensor output vsen.
