<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor with small hysteresis which provides highly responsive back-pressure adjusting valve for compressor and which can achieve high COP. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A back-pressure adjusting valve 24 is provided with a vertical chamber 21a of which the upstream side is connected to a discharge chamber 16 of the compressor and extends in upward and downward directions X, a spool 25 which is stored inside the vertical chamber 21a in a movable manner in the upward direction from the upstream side to the downstream side by the resisting power of the cyclic coolant and forms a primary flow path together with the vertical chamber 21a, a spring 26 which energizes the spool 25 in the downward direction inside the vertical chamber 21a, a secondary flow path which is connected to the primary flow path and extends in a horizontal direction Y, and a connecting route 28 which connects the secondary flow path to a back-pressure chamber 40 of the compressor. A notch 25d of the spool 25 forms a variable throttle which reduces a connecting area between the first flow path and the second flow path by the move of the spool 25 in the downstream side.
