PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily check incorrect definition or sharing of register variables in designing the register variables and in program automatic creation. SOLUTION: A register variable check device 10 is mounted to a software development support system 100 which creates design drawings of software on GUI basis and automatically creates a program tailored to the design drawings. The device includes: a register variable definition information acquisition part 10A which specifies the register variables used on the design drawings and their use places; and a highlight display part 10B which highlights and displays the register variable use places specified in register variable definition information on the design drawings. The device further performs specification settings of highlight display and the highlight display, lists up the design drawings on which the register variables are used, and checks whether highlight display of the register variables with the same variable name is performed or not.
