PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight pneumatic tire having low rolling resistance wherein durability of a bead part is excellent. SOLUTION: In the pneumatic tire using, as its framework, a carcass comprising a carcass body formed of a ply made of rubber-coated cords extending between a pair of bead cores and a fold-back part formed by winding back the ply around respective bead cores from inside to outside of the tire and extending outward in a radial direction of the tire, at least a terminal of the fold-back part is covered by a reinforcing layer at outside of the fold-back part in a tire width direction. The tensile rigidity of the reinforcing layer is 90 to 110% of the tensile rigidity of the ply. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
