[Also in Group XVII] A receptacle for transporting and for growing bulbs (see also Group XVII), comprises a cup-like cylindrical container 1 having a bottom 3 secured to it so as to be water-holding, two apertured circular discs 7, 14 of the same diameter as the interior wall of the container being spaced above one another so that the bulbs may be held between them with their tops and roots extending through the respective disc-apertures 8 the receptacle being usable for transport of the bulbs or for the forcing of bulbs by the introduction of water into the lower part thereof without any re-arrangement of the component parts. The container is of waxed cardboard and may comprise two containers arranged one inside the other to obviate leakage of water caused by penetration of bulb-roots through the cardboard. Rings 13, 15, 16 maintain the discs 7, 14 in position and the upper edge 12 of the outer container may be beaded over the uppermost ring 16. |
