The method involves implementing frames of an encapsulated data link layer in frames of a physical layer, respectively, for permitting communication between a source communicating entity (EC1) and a recipient communicating entity (EC2), where the physical layer has a frame end field comprising a padding sequence. Signaling information is transmitted in the padding sequence, where the signaling information indicates quality of a received signal.
