PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pack battery and its control method capable of reliably appealing to its user deterioration of a battery performance and capable of securing safety by prohibiting its usage without feelings of unpleasantness or incongruity. SOLUTION: When deterioration of a secondary battery is detected, the user is informed of the same and usage of the pack battery is prohibited after passing of a predetermined grace period. In the grace period, a charge voltage of the secondary battery is lowered compared with a specified battery voltage and prohibition of usage is conducted by shutting down a charge/discharge electric passage of the secondary battery on condition that the secondary battery is not under discharging. Furthermore, in the grace period, a decreasing rate of a residual quantity of the secondary battery outputted outside while time elapses is enlarged in appearance. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
