SYSTEM FOR WATER PURIFICATION AND METHOD OF INCREASING DISSOLVED-OXYGEN CONCENTRATION IN WATER TO BE PURIFIED

A method of increasing the concentration of dissolved oxygen in water without destroying the ecosystem, whereby environmental water, industrial wastewater, or domestic wastewater including sewage is purified with aerobic bacteria.  The water purification system comprises: a water-cleaning material (2) constituted of carbon fibers, oxidized fibers, flameproofed fibers, or other various fibers and disposed in water; and a carbonaceous material (6), such as carbon fibers, oxidized fibers, or flameproofed fibers, buried in the bottom, in a wall part of the water area to be purified, or in the sludge.  This system heightens the concentration of dissolved oxygen in environmental water, industrial wastewater, or domestic wastewater including sewage.
