The present invention relates to transparent fire-resistant glazing assemblies constituted by assembling at least two glass sheets (1, 2) and between the latter an intumescent material (3) based on a hydrated alkali metal silicate, the space between the glass sheets being filled by means of a spacer (6, 9, 12) that keeps the glass sheets at a distance from one another and that adheres in a leakproof manner to the latter. According to the invention the spacer is constituted of a rigid or semi-rigid material that is resistant to the alkali metal silicate, and forms a section of which at least the parts facing the glass sheets are coated with an adhesive (7, 8, 10) that is also resistant to the alkali metal silicate. |
