The 3D image display apparatus may adjust a number of viewpoints of a 3D image, distance between viewpoints, and other parameters through varying a display pattern of a viewing zone generating unit and a distance between an image display unit and the viewing zone generating unit. Accordingly, the 3D image display apparatus may effectively express the 3D image suitable for various viewing circumstances.
