PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pipe type heat sink capable of securing normal operation of a heat pipe even under a low-temperature environment, and saving a space while exerting high cooling performance. SOLUTION: This heat pipe type heat sink 10 is constituted by disposing small-diameter pipes 12 provided with radiation fins 20 on outer peripheral faces, in parallel with one another in a state of being vertically extended on one plane inclined to a horizontal face, connecting lower ends of the plurality of small-diameter pipes 12 to a header pipe 16 disposed on a heat receiving block 14 in such a state that they can be communicated with each other, on the other hand, connecting upper ends of the plurality of small-diameter pipes 12 to a gas reservoir pipe 18, so that the small-diameter pipes 12 are communicated with one another through the gas reservoir pipe 18 at upper end sections, and further encapsulating operating fluid and a noncondensable gas inside of the pipes 12 and the header pipe 16.
