<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device that performs appropriate control processing in a case where a conveying member is provided, the conveying member being set to be moved to a storage position when a medium to be conveyed is not set. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The printer includes: a body frame; a tray movable to a setting position where at least part of the tray is exposed from the body frame and a disk can be set and the storage position where the tray is stored in the body frame; a recording head that performs recording on a disk conveyed to the recording position set between the set position and the storage position by the tray; a tray storage detector that detects the position of the tray; and a CPU that performs various control processes according to a detection result obtained by the tray storage detector.
