摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a temperature rise acceleration process of a catalyst 5 disposed in an exhaust gas passage 4 of an internal combustion engine 1 and a temperature rise acceleration process of cooling water of the internal combustion engine 1 as the need arises while keeping a structure as simple as possible in an exhaust heat recovery device 18 for the internal combustion engine 1. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The catalyst 5 can be heated by exhaust heat at a downstream side of the catalyst 5 when a first heat circulation route 40 starting a heat receiving part 21 to a first transfer path 24, a heat exchange part 22, a first recirculation path 25 and returning to the heat receiving part 21 is formed by state change over means (28, 19). The cooling water of the internal combustion engine 1 can be heated by heat of the catalyst when a second heat circulation route 50 starting the heat exchange part 22 to a second transfer path 26, a heat radiation part 23, a second heat recirculation path 27 and returning to the heat exchange part 22 is formed. The cooling water of the internal combustion engine 1 can be heated without heating the catalyst 5 by exhaust heat at a downstream side of the catalyst 5 when a third heat circulation route 60 starting the heat receiving part 21 to the first transfer path 24, the heat exchange part 22, the second transfer path 26, the heat radiating part 23, the second recirculation path 27, the first recirculation path 24 and returning to the heat receiving part 21 is formed.
