PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal and operation button function allocation method in which excellent ease of operation can be obtained regardless of the type of a function to be used. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal includes a display unit comprising a display 3 and input units 7 and 8 including operation buttons 13, 14 respectively, and the input units 7 and 8 are connected to be retractable from a back of the display unit 5 independently. Different functions are allocated to at least one of the operation buttons 13, 14 of the input units 7 and 8 while the input unit 7, 8 appears singly, and while both the input units 7 and 8 appear together.
