<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drain-material driving device capable of effectively driving the drain material down to a predetermined depth even at the placement site with restriction in a space in the height direction, and to provide a method thereof. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The drain material D is wound around introducing rollers 6a, 6b, and rollers 5a-5g in such a manner as to be continuously inserted into the casings 4 arranged side by side in a station 2. The casing 4 sequentially moved to a driving position with a chain block 7 is connected to the lower casing 4 driven in the ground, so as to be driven into the ground together with the inserted drain-material. This driving process is repeated until reaching the predetermined depth. Then, the casings 4 are pulled out one by one to be exposed above the ground, while keeping the drain material D successively inserted inside of the casings 4, the casing 4 exposed above the ground and the casing below are disconnected, and then, the casings 4 above the ground are arranged in a row with the chain block 7 in the station 2.
