1,033,056. Suspended wall or ceiling panels; clips. F. FRUH. Dec. 13, 1962 [Dec. 13, 1961], No. 47054/62. Headings E1V and E2B. Clips for supporting wall or ceiling panels from framing members each comprise a flat base portion 1 with upper, staggered, securing lugs 4 and 5, with a space between them sufficient for the clip to be pushed up until the flat portion lies against the bottom of the framing member, and then rotated into position, and lower, outwardly facing tongues 22 which support the ceiling panels either from underneath, as shown, or by projecting into the edges of said panels (Figs. 5, 6, not shown). The framing members may be T-sectioned, as shown, top hat sectioned (Fig. 4, not shown), or cylindrical (Fig. 7, not shown), and may be suspended from the structural ceiling by wires passing through holes 3 herein (Fig. 2, not shown), or be attached to walls by nails passing through holes 3<SP>1</SP> (Fig. 4, not shown). The panel edge grooves may be pre-formed (Fig. 6, not shown), with strips 15 of P.V.C. used to cover the joints, or may be formed by pressing the tongues 22 into the panels. The panels may be of various specified materials. The tongues may be designed to grip two panel edges extending at right angles to each other, (Fig. 11, not shown). |
