PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nubuck-toned sheet-like article having satisfactory appearance, touch feeling, handling and lighting effect as the nubuck-toned sheet-like article together with satisfactory abrasion resistance in a field where a high degree of endurance is required, and capable of being produced by a simple process, and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: In the nubuck-toned sheet-like article, a foamed layer consisting of a polyurethane resin formed by reacting a hot-melt urethane prepolymer with a urethane curing agent is stacked in a state of coexistence with pile fiber pieces on the surface of the side having the pile fiber pieces of a fibrous substrate having the pile fiber pieces consisting of a non-loop pile fiber on at least one face, at least a part of the pile fiber pieces protrude to be napped pile-like on the surface of the foamed layer and the surface of the protruded pile fiber pieces are covered with a protection film.
