<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet type light guide body in which process-passing performance is high with a small change in chrominance and which is available at a low cost with excellent quality, and a planar light source using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet type light guide body 10 includes a transparent core 12 comprising an organic polymer which is provided by molten extrusion molding using a die in which a slit-like discharge opening is formed, and a transparent clad 14 covering the core 12. The thickness thereof is 1 mm or smaller while the tensile fracture distortion of the clad 14 is larger than that of the core 12. The planar light source includes the sheet type light guide body 10 and a light source for emitting light into the sheet type light guide body 10 through an end face of the sheet type light guide body 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
