<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merchandise sales data processor for achieving the optimal volume regardless of a peripheral noise. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The merchandise sales processor equipped with a voice output means which outputs a voice is provided with a noise detection means for detecting a peripheral noise level N, and configured to control the volume of the voice output means to be a corrected volume S by adding a prescribed addition volume α to the noise level N detected by the noise detection means, and to, when the corrected volume S exceeds an upper limit volume β, control the volume of the voice output means to be an upper limit volume β.
