<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retaining member for improving the retaining strength of an electric component to a substrate and decreasing damage of a sidewall of a through-hole, and to provide the electric component, and an electric device. <P>SOLUTION: The retaining member includes: a base being a fixing portion obtained by working the same metallic plate; and a first leg portion extended from the base. The leg portion includes: a latch portion disposed at the distal end and positioned at the periphery of the through-hole on the backside of the substrate while an electric component is fixed; a coupling portion whose one end is connected to the latch portion and partially disposed in the through-hole in a fixed state; and a spring portion connecting the coupling portion to the base, disposed on the surface of the substrate in a fixed state, and displaced so as to allow the connection portion to be inclined with respect to the fixed state and allow the latch portion to be inserted to the through-hole when the latch portion and the connection portion are inserted to the through-hole. The spring portion is extended substantially in the same direction as the coupling portion, where the width in the short-side direction is wider than the plate thickness of the metallic plate. The shape of connection ends between the coupling portion and the base is made in the plate-like shape prior to displacement.
