A communication device includes: a reception unit which receives a signal containing a initially transmitted signal and a retransmission signal of any one signal; a detection order decision unit which decides the order of detection of the initially transmitted signal and the retransmission signal from the signal received by the reception unit in accordance with the number of retransmissions of the initially transmitted signal and the retransmission signal; and a signal detection unit which detects the initially transmitted signal and the retransmission signal from the signal received by the reception unit according to the order decided by the detection order decision unit, by using a detected signal relating to the initially transmitted signal and a detected signal relating to the retransmission signal.  The signal detection unit has a synthesis unit for synthesizing the detected retransmission signal with a signal detected from the received signals containing at least one associated signals received prior to the retransmission signal.
