PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video-recorded content owner estimating apparatus for estimating an owner of a timer-recorded contents.

SOLUTION: A video-recorded content owner estimating apparatus includes: a reservation information storage means 108 for recording information in a case where one time of recording-viewing reservation to be made from start of EPG to the end; a feature extracting means 106 for extracting feature information of a user; and a feature (preference, habit) information storage means 110 for recording the extracted feature information. In the case that an HDD capacity lack error occurs, feature information generated on the basis of reservation information of a current user is compared with the feature information stored in the feature (preference, habit) information storage means 110 to estimate the user, and contents, that might be recorded by the user, are selected.
