PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dyeing method for imparting infrared ray absorbability which dyes even colors other than a black-based color without requiring a large amount of black dye for achieving high-performance infrared ray absorbability even when a dyeing method capable of achieving small lot production is adopted. SOLUTION: The dyeing method imparting infrared ray absorbability includes applying dyeing processing providing an infrared reflection at 830 nm wavelength of not more than 30% by blending an iron-containing dye of the dye C.I.Acid Green 1 with an acid dye selected from a chromium-containing dye such as C.I.Acid Yellow 129, C.I.Acid Orange 88, C.I.Acid Orange 140, C.I.Acid Red 315, C.I.Acid Violet 75, C.I.Acid Blue 127:1, C.I.Acid Blue 193, C.I.Acid Blue 229 or C.I.Acid Brown 283 and a non-metal type acid dye such as C.I.Acid Yellow 79, C.I.Acid Orange 67, C.I.Acid Orange 95, C.I.Acid Red 52, C.I.Acid Red 111, C.I.Acid Red 138, C.I.Acid Violet 48, C.I.Acid Violet 97, C.I.Acid Blue 18, C.I.Acid Blue 205 or C.I.Acid Blue 221, and then dyeing nylon or wool fiber with the acid dye.
