PURPOSE: An ear jack and a portable terminal with the same are provided to enable a plug sensing unit to operate connection terminals after a plug of an ear phone is inserted, thereby preventing noise when the plug is inserted. CONSTITUTION: A main body comprises an insertion passage. A plug of an ear phone is inserted into the insertion passage. Connection terminals are arranged in the insertion passage. The connection terminals are connected to the plug. A plug sensing unit(160) generates a signal for operating the connection terminals.
