The method involves controlling a magnetic valve (100) based on a rail pressure signal during opening of the magnetic valve, where the control takes place with a high rail pressure in such a manner that the magnetic valve applies a smaller force than with a low rail pressure. A current value is predetermined with the magnetic valve in a control phase based on the rail pressure. Duration of the control phase is predetermined based on the rail pressure. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling a magnetic valve of a fuel measuring system.
