<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioning device for a vehicle which reduces windshield frosting even in case read-out of an opening control value from a memory means is in trouble. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The air conditioning device A for the vehicle comprises a microcomputer (control means) 11 which controls opening of a defrost damper 7a according to an air conditioning mode, and an EEPROM (memory means) 12 which stores an opening control value of the defrost damper 7a. The microcomputer 11 recognizes the air conditioning mode, reads out the opening control value of the defrost damper 7a from the EEPROM 12 according to the recognized air conditioning mode, and then controls opening of the defrost damper 7a according to the read out opening control value. In case of trouble of read-out of the opening control value from EEPROM 12, the microcomputer 11 maintains control by reciprocatingly driving the defrost damper 7a between full open and full close states.
