<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser welding method by which an excellent weld zone can be formed. <P>SOLUTION: In the laser welding method, before forming a weld zone 23 by irradiating it with a second laser beam L2, a first laser beam L1 is emitted to form a preheating portion 24. The formation of the preheating portion 24 suppresses occurrence of spatters due to rapid heat input when the weld zone 23 is formed by the second laser beam L2, thereby preventing scatter of a base material and forming the excellent weld zone 23. Also, since the first laser beam L1 is emitted followed by the irradiation of the second laser beam L2, a heat input time can be extended and a cooling speed of a workpiece W after the laser beam irradiation can be made slow as compared to a single laser beam irradiation.
