PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mold a green compact produced, e.g., into a longitudinal edge type throw-away tip having a tip breaker projecting from a rake face in such a manner that punches are made to separate/approach to a direction corresponding to the thickness direction of the tip body. SOLUTION: When, using a press molding die provided with punches 21, 22 facing each other and relatively made to separate/approach; and a die 24 surrounding the punches 21, 22 and defining a cavity 23, raw material powder charged to the cavity 23 is compressed by the punches 21, 22, so as to press-mold a green compact, a recessed part 26 retreating toward the outside of the cavity 23 is formed at the die 24, and the raw material powder compressed by the punches 21, 22 is filled into the recessed part 26, thus a projecting part relatively made convex to the part adjacent to the direction side from which the punches 21, 22 are separated is molded at the part molded by the die 24 in the green compact.
