<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an motor-driven pressure resistance welding machine capable of prolonging the lifetime, easily executing attachment/detachment and replacement of each unit, executing the high-speed operation, and demonstrating the high dust-proofness. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A spot welding gun comprises a rail body 24, a ball screw 21 which is provided parallel both sidewall parts 24a, 24b between both wall parts 24a, 24b of the rail body 24 while both ends are rotatably supported with respect to the rail body 24, and a slider 23 which is assembled to the ball screw 21 and guided by the sidewall parts 24a, 24b and moved straight, and further comprises a driving unit 20 for driving an electrode 4 by fitting the electrode 4 to one end 24c of the rail body 24, and turning the ball screw 21 to move the rail body 24 to the slider 23. The electrode 4 and an electrode 5 are fitted to the rail body 24 and a gun arm 3, respectively, so as to be located on the axis of the ball screw 21, and opposite to each other.
